Abstract
In the recent years, the Smart Grid system has become an important issue. As a renew power infrastructure, it really will give us lots of convenience in the future. But there are still have more security issues need us to solve it. With that, many papers have already discussed this issue. However, most of them are talking about the overall system and not all research suit our country power system. Therefore, in this thesis, we analysis the infrastructure according to Taiwan Power Company (TaiPower) Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system. AMI system is a part of the Smart Grid system. We introduce the AMI system and the vulnerable in each component. And there are a new component which is named In Home Displays (IHDs). The IHDs can show the power information which is sensitive data for the user. In order to solve these threats, we design two kinds of secure protocols between IHDs and Head End. These two protocols can suit our country infrastructure and adopt two common situations in our daily life. The protocols are also compatible with IEC 62056-53 which is the Smart Grid communication standard. We offer practical and secure protocols and have security analysis for that.
