Abstract

The development of growing children can be known due to the skeletal growth. We can not only assess the potential on growth of height but also early diagnose the specific disease by using bone age. The most common methods used for bone age evaluation are GP method and TW3 method. The GP method is based on a general comparison with standards of the atlas standards but its result will be influenced by different physicians. TW method makes detailed analyses of twenty individual bones and scores each bone. Although the result of TW method won’t be easily-affected by different physicians, its procedure is more time-consuming. The thesis proposes the TW3 method combined with web-based TW3 scoring system implemented in PHP and MySQL environment. The user can score the radiograms on client devices and then transferring the radiograms and scores to the server for further analysis. To improve the efficiency of system and make the interface more convenient, the thesis combines the advantages of other similar scoring systems and modifies their shortages to achieve a more efficient web-based TW3 system.
