Abstract
With the rapid development of internet and communication technology, people have multiple ways to deliver message to each other. People can use various message delivery systems to send instant or non-instant message. In the meantime, pure textual messages are not well fit for user’s need. People gradually favor on Multimedia messages with rich content. However, the functions, data formats and transfer protocols are different in various message delivery systems. For example, the instant and non-instant message delivery systems are different in message timeliness, and the content of messages is varied in pure textual and multimedia messages. Therefore, message delivery is limited in the same message delivery system. To communicate with each other, the sender and the receiver must use the same message delivery system and have account in the message delivery system. To solve the problem above, we propose an integrated message delivery system-XMS (Cross Message System) on which messages can be sent cross heterogeneous message delivery systems. XMS is a message delivery system based on Jabber System, performs the message format and property transformation on various message delivery systems. Besides, people can send message to any supporting message delivery systems in XMS by using the mobile phone number as unique identifier. Through XMS, message delivery is no longer limited in the same message delivery system. Sender can use his favor message delivery system to send message by specify the receiver’s unique identifier, and receiver can specify the receiving way according his preference. Consequently, XMS really provide a convenient way to deliver message cross heterogeneous message delivery systems.
