Abstract

多重描述JPEG2000聯合訊源與通道編碼無線傳輸
In this thesis, we propose two models for robust joint source-channel coding scheme for JPEG2000 image coding. Here, we apply multiple description coding incorporated into JPEG2000 coder to encode image source and use the unequally error protection (UEP) schemes such as rate compatible punctured convolution (RCPC) codes for further enhanced channel coding performance. The first and second proposed models are referred to separated multiple description coding (SMDC) and multiple description scalar quantizer (MDSQ) based joint source-channel coding. The goal is to find an optimal bit allocation according to the source information and two channels status to minimize the central distortion under a target bit-rate and bounded side distortion . Experiment results show that the proposed UEP outperform the EEP over different channel conditions and transmission rates. The performance of SMDC is higher than the others with UEP at transmission rate ( > 0.5 bpp). The MDSQ is more robust than the others with unstable channels.
