Abstract
ABSTRACTA Vuilleumier cryocooler can be thought of as a Stirling engine working as a refrigerator with a thermal compressor instead of a mechanical compressor. The Vuilleumier cryocooler consists of two major sections; power input section and refrigeration section. It uses thermal energy at high trmperatures to generate cyclic pressure fluctuations. The pressure fluctuations are used to produce refrigeration at low temperature. This model decouples three processes that contribute to the temperature change in the energy equation and solves for the temperature change in each process respectively in order to get numerical stability. With Nodal Analysis Method calculate the phenomenon in the model. Dividing series of control volume in the system and creating computer program to analyze the performance of system. The analyzing result will be useful to design cryocooler element and calculate performance.
