Abstract
The objective of this thesis is to design a DSP/CPLD-based seeking and spindle servo control system for a DVD-Player,and to verify its performance via experiments. In seeking servo design, the modules which need fast multiplication and accumulation were realized in DSP,while the track counter and logic modules were realized in CPLD. Additionally,an active damper module is also designed for long-seek servo system to alleviate the vibratory motion of the pick-up-head while long-jump (1/3 of full stroke) is performed. In spindle servo design, the Phase-Locked-Loop (PLL) including data PLL and spindle PLL modules were realized in CPLD,and it is integrated with long-seek servo further. Constant Angular Velocity (CAV) mode and Constant Linear Velocity (CLV) mode were performed to verify the effectiveness of the integrated system. The experimental results have further shown the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed schemes.
