Abstract
This research which focuses on the shop floor of semiconductor industry, studies the factory supervisors who face shop floor management (SFM) problems. It also studies the practice ways to solve the SFM problems that supervisors can adopt. This research wishes the SFM model to be able to provide a conceptual direction for supervisors when they think about how to solve SFM problems. It also wants to provide a consultation for company promoting the ability of supervisors, and hoping it also avails for training supervisors. This research bases on reference study and interviews. It first collects references which discuss the concepts and the management ways that supervisors should have for SFM. And then it begins the first interviews to supervisors for collecting the practice ways and common problems. This research integrates the reference part and practice part to establish a structured model of SFM for follow-up interviews. Finally it interviews the executive and the supervisor in manufacture department in some cases. It generalizes some conclusions from the comparison of information gathered by the final interviews and references.
