Abstract
Abstract Since the gradual awakening of the ethnic consciousness in the 1980s, the development of aboriginal literature in Taiwan has been gradually flourishing. The study took a Puyuma writer, Badai and his novels as research objects and explored the tribal writing and historical narration in his novels as the core of observation. First of all, it comprehended the dimensions of his literature cultivation and relevant focusing issues based on the writer’s background and creation process. Furthermore, it made an observation on the relationship among Badai’s positions in various literature fields and power according to Bourdieu’s field theory. It explored Badai’s operating strategy of tribal writing in long novels on the dimensions of prototype projection of myths and legends, spread of natural and human space, performance of wizardry culture, immigration of ethnic group and seeking roots. Badai dedicated himself to the work of tribal literature and history, with attempts to write history in his literature, many his historical novels were published and massive writing plans were stipulated in recent years. The writer wrote historical novels in narrative operation mode with the tribal history viewpoints for his tribe based on rigorous historical literatures and materials. Badai continuously works on literature creation and culture work with his passion and polished writing skill, looking forward to achieving more recognition and passing on the cultural heritage.
