Abstract
The major objective in this study is to establish an automatic method of sampling and analysis, Automatic P&T/GC/MS system can analyze 84 kinds of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in water simultaneously and automatically, and VOCs are qualitated and quantitated easily. RSDRRF of this system is about 6.2±4.1%; The precise of this system is 2.5±1.4%; Recovery is around 104.3±14.3%; MDL of all compounds is 0.45±0.29ppb. However for polar compounds, P&T shows poor linearity and precision, so SPME/GC/FID has been established for three polar compounds, IPA、Acetone and DMS. In QA/QC experiment, the average RSDRRF is 15.8%; the average precise is 15.0%; the average recovery is 103.9%; the average MDL is 7.9ppb.In practice, the samplings have been proceeded in the vicinity of Science Park, and the VOCs autosampler has been used first time in the wastewater treatment plant to sample the effluent of the Hi-tech industries for 24 hours continuously. There is a trend that the emission of the wastewater of Science Park factory is constant but the water treated by wastewater treatment plant has been found a dual peak; the sampling for the wastewater and its upper air of every unit in the wastewater treatment plant was performed in order to realize the relationship of the VOCs concentration of wastewater and its upper air. On May 3, the wastewater volume which entered the wastewater treatment plant is about 125940CMD, and the outflow of wastewater treatment plant is around 88978CMD. Therefore, the estimated quantity of VOCs contains Acetone (1310.2Kg/Day)、 IPA (133Kg/Day)、 DMS (14Kg/Day) in inflow, and Acetone (1310.2Kg/Day)、 DMS (14Kg/Day) in outflow. IPA has not been measured here. According to the data above, the effect of treatment of wastewater treatment plant for these three compounds is about 93.6(DMS)?100%(IPA).Finally, during the sampling in the vicinity of Science Park, VOCs was found in some of rain ditches and the channel of the outflow of wastewater treatment plant, in which the concentration of Acetone is between 1.15~160ppb, and the concentration of DMS is in the range of 7.3~89.5ppb.
