Abstract
The study aimed to explore the influence of using Plickers on math learning of fifth graders. Plickers is a Interactive Response System tool for educators. Just give students cards with unique patterns, teacher only has to use smartphones to scan them like a QR code. Teaching with Plickers can increase teacher-student interactions and to boost engagement who studied during the learning process. The participants were fifth grade students, a total of nineteen students, at an elementary school in Taoyuan City. The research, generated from a one-group pretest-posttest design, are presented in four sections: (1) Math teaching about volume with Plickers. (2) Math teaching about Calculation the time with Information technology integration. (3) Math teaching about representing Number with symbols with Information technology integration. (4) Math teaching about with Plickers Surface Area. As to the method of the survey, questionnaire was adopted. A detailed description and discussion of the findings were summarized as follows (1) Teaching with Plickers boosts students’ academic performance. (2) Teaching with Plickers give students positive impact on learning attitudes. (3) There was no significant difference in students’ academic performance between teaching with Plickers and teaching with Information technology integration. (4)As to students’ learning attitudes, teaching with Plickers have more positive feedbacks than teaching with Information technology integration. (5) There was high satisfaction with Plickers from students.
