Abstract
As the advancement of technology in wind energy and the increases in market needs, wind energy has gradually transformed from auxiliary to primary resources of utility because of zero pollution with green effects in energy and environment aspects. Since researches in wind energy are not popular in Taiwan, this thesis has focused on the analysis of power density and efficiency of wind generators. With emphasis on traditional claw-pole generators, analysis of basic structure and magnetic circuits; we adopt the claw-pole-rotor structure for the wind generators in new design. After preliminary design is completed, computer simulations both in static and dynamic conditions have been conducted with considerations in output performances with appropriate loads. With efforts to decrease the copper losses due to high frequency operations and energy for excitation, we finally could increase the energy efficiency and reduce the material costs by optimization of the design so that operational characteristics and output performances are achieved.
