Abstract
Pt-Ru nanoparticle electro-catalyst on carbon nanotubes electrode as the anode was obtained by pulsed electrodeposition for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). Carbon nanotubes were directly grown on carbon cloth by chemical vapor deposition and pretreated in 2M H2SO4. The pulsed electrodeposition by changing the duty ratio and the dissolution time was obtained better performance. Pt-Ru/CNT/Carbon Cloth in DMFC was analyzing by cyclic voltammetry in argon saturated 0.5 M CH3OH + 0.5 M H2SO4 solution. The single cell test produces an enhancement of power density. The morphology of Pt-Ru/CNT/Carbon Cloth was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that pulsed electrodeposition provide uniform distribution of electrodepositon catalysts and better electrochemical characteristic.
