Abstract
In this research the gravure offset printing process was examined for non-Newtonian ink transferred from intaglio to upper plate by using computational fluid dynamics, including the movement of plate comparing to the gravure to observe the stretch of inductive ink. The improvement of transfer is indicated by the transfer amount and the product electrical resistance. A verifying lab was built to carry out experiments and the transfer was filmed by CCD camera, to examine whether the amount of ink transfer is consistent to the simulation. The ink transfer was investigated by Taguchi Method, the optimal parameters have been found from the control factors and match is positive with the result from the experiments. The results showed that the influence of ink transfer is as following order: angle of the gravure, upper contact angle, viscosity, velocity, bottom contact angle and surface tension, the best angle of gravure is 60 degrees. The best combination of parameters is expected to be able to increase 25% ink transfer, meanwhile the resistance can be reduced by 10%, which saves time for charging and discharging the touch panel.
