Abstract
System on a Chip (SOC) design is a new concept allowing the design of single chips containing embedded cores executing software in addition to classical hardware. To speed up the increase in productivity, Silicon Intellectual Property(SIP) reuse methodologies are expected as key enablers to face development objectives. In this research, the SOC and SIP development is used as an example to explore the integrated product and intellectual capital development. Through a notion of coordinating integrated product development, it brings supply chain and SIP development into process of SOC development. The study used the multi-agent framework to implement a system prototype which integrates multi-functional teams to coordinate design process. Through the SOC case, the system displayed the interaction of agents to integrate activities of product and intellectual capital development.
