Abstract
IC design companies in the past have focused on meeting the specifications and developing the products accordingly. They often lose track of the compatibility in hardware and software with the downstream customers. Thus they may face the follow-up customer complaints generated by the compatibility problems. Today more and more upstream manufacturers want to comply with the quality needs of downstream customers. This research analyzes a case of video product development process with a designed quality testing process to achieve of the customers' quality requirements. Through the development of an integrated information platform to save the test data and to facilitate relevant inter-departmental communication and assessment, users can quickly master the test progress and get the status in a short time. In addition to smooth out the product development process, the quality test allows the overall product development and validation to accommodate more complete testing process. This case study focuses on a staged testing process analysis and improvement. By discussing the issues arising in the architecture design and import process to find the ways for improvements, the study clarifies how to improve the testing quality and information integration through changing the testing process and choosing a more suitable tool. After the implementation and improvement of the long-term testing process, the case has shown the development process with the integrated information platform and test tool to achieve increasing product shipping yield, reducing test time, and keeping test record for the management.
