Abstract
In this study, we developed a novel biomedical composite material toestimate the effect on the repair of cartilage tissue. We chose thebioceramic which is similar to the composition of native bone and anatural polymer-gelatin, which is relatively biocompatible, to make use ofthe advantages of each material to improve the cultivation effect andovercome some clinical problems. The connected force between calcium polyphosphate(CPP) andgelatin layer is fairly strong. We used -tricalcium phosphate(-TCP) asthe separation layer to prevent blood vessels from invading the cartilagezone. After test, it was certified that the growth of chondrocytes on thegelatin layer were not interrupted by the ceramic material. The qualitative, quantitative and RT-PCR data showed that the period of in-vitro cultureshould not be over two or three weeks; otherwise, the differentiation ofchondrocytes will occur.Chondroitin sulfate is an important component of cartilage tissue; itprofits the growth of the tissue. We figured out that pouring C6S into themedium was the best among methods of cross-linking with gelatin.
