Abstract
A brief outline of the shell model and shell model calculation of matirle elements are given. In the calculation part, two types of methdos are discussed. They are the Slater method and the Talmi method. The former was used to caloulate the first order energy correction of O18 by various two-body residual interactions, which areδ - force, pairing force, Ganssian force and Yuhawa force.
