Abstract In this research, we used polymer template to fabricate TiO2、ZnO and Co3O4 nanodot arrays through immersion assisted with room-temperature CVD method, and also Zn-Co-O nanotubes by thermal pyrolysis method using AAO as the template. (1) Polymer template: The template was from Prof. Ho’s group of our dept.. This template was formed with polystyrene with pores of diameter of 30 nm and length of 50 nm. We used this template to synthesize three kinds of materials:TiO2、ZnO and Co3O4. Because polymers could not bear with high temperatures, the overall reaction must be operated at low temperatures. For this reason, we chose the immersing method to fill the precursor into the pores of the template, and then introducing the other reagent into the reactor through room-temperature CVD method. After evaporating the solvent at 60℃, the samples were put into 500℃ oven to remove the template and to acquire the crystal phase. By this way, TiO2、ZnO and Co3O4 nanoarrays formed. (2) AAO template: The templates with diameter of 200 nm and length of 60 μm were bought from Whatman. We sputtered a layer of Au on one side and electrodeposit Ni as the bottom to contain the Zn(NO3)2 and Co(NO3)2 solution which were in different concentrations. Then, put the sample into 300℃ oven to pyrolyzed the precursor inside the pores. Finally, after etching the template with NaOH, and Zn-Co-O nanotubes were formed.
