Abstract
Just like systems development makes use of innumerable tools, techniques and methodologies, so does service science. The training of service professionals requires however a mastery of these tools methodologies and techniques in a relatively short period of time. The cumulative amount of the tools, methodologies and techniques of these two fields of study requires a focus on some more straightforward, difficult to bypass and practical methodologies for more effectiveness and efficiency of their training. This paper is a case study of SOA and ISS classes bridging the methodologies of service science and systems development by first, going through the tools, methodologies and techniques used in the classes of service oriented architecture and of introduction to service science, second makes a directory of the tools, methodologies and techniques students kept in mind after training, third, an inventory of those they actually used during the field projects and the order in which they used them and finally makes suggestions about how to train service professionals using a sorted list of the tools, methodologies and techniques with a sequence of usage.
