Abstract
Inthispaper,wepresenta2.4GHzbasebandtransceiverwithanadaptivedetectioncontrolbasedonchannelsignal-to-noiseratio(SNR)estimationtominimizeenergycon-sumption.Powersavingbecomesanimportantissuefortherapidlygrownusagesofportabledevices.Theproposedreceiverconsistsoftwomajormodules,apacketdetectorandade-modulator.Thepacketdetectorcorrelatesthereceivedpreambleandmakesdecisionwiththethreshold.Tominimizetheenergyconsumption,weproposeanadaptivedetectionschemesuchthatthefalsealarmrateandthemissdetectionrateareminimized.Furthermore,anFM-to-AMconverterisdevelopedasthelow-IFdemodulatorwhichhaslowcomplexityonhardwareimplementation.Simulationresultsshowthattheoptimaldetectionerrorrateisachievedcomparedwiththeconventionalschemes.Thereceiverwithadaptive-thresholddetectorandthelow-IFdemodulatorisimplementedinFPGAplatformandisintegratedwithRFmoduleforpassbandtestinganddemonstration.AndthisplatformiscompletelyintegratedwithapulseoximeterwithSpO2sensorwhichrealizethewirelesspersonalhealthmonitoring.
