Abstract
在自動化的領域中，工程資料管理系統(EDMS)主要在管理與工程相關的資料，多侷限在工程部門的應用，而新一代的資料管理系統─產品資料管理系統(PDMS)則是管理產品生命週期中所有與產品相關的資料與工作流程，其所涵蓋的範圍從產品設計到生產期間所有工作流程及所牽涉的資料，跨越的部門包括設計、工程、及製造部門，所管理之工程資料與資料種類則與廣義的EDMS相仿。產品資料管理(PDM)是一項能夠整合產品相關資料及工作流程的重要技術，它也是最近在自動化科技中成長最快的技術。一個產品資料管理系統(PDMS )架構在電子資料庫及電腦化的網路工作環境上，它能有效的讓各部門及承包商和客戶間分享資料，支援各個工作流程，並在整個產品發展的生命週期中控制產品的型態，管理工程變更以達成同步工程。本文首先定義PDM及其管理的資料種類，然後再介紹其主要的觀念及架構，最後我們會提出一個以關聯式資料庫為基的PDM模式來管理產品相關的資料，而所有工程活動相關的資料流程也在本文中一併討論之。Product Data Management (PDM) is one of the most importanttechnology enabling the integration of all the product relateddata and processes. It is the fastest growing technologywithin automation technology. It is supported by electronicdatabases and computerized environment. It can effectivelyshare data across different departments, suppliers andcustomers, support the work processes, control the productconfiguration, and manage engineering changes. PDM is not justa data manager, it also is a workflow manager. It manages allof the product development such as product design, drawing,prototyping, production planning and production. PDM not onlyenhances efficiency for single departmental activity, also aimsto increase the productivity of an entire enterprise. The maingoal of PDM development is to integrate all of the productdevelopment procedures from design to manufacturing andconsider the information integration and concurrence, anenterprise can benefit from shortening product developmentcycle, increasing design quality and lowering overall cost.This research, first, develops a framework of product datamanagement system. The PDM functional procedures and itsrequired data models are specified. The definition and thedata categories of a PDM system are addressed. Then, wediscuss the PDM key concepts, develop system architecture ofPDM, and propose data models of PDM. Finally, a PDM prototypeis implemented based on the data models and an example isintroduced to demonstrate the system execution procedure.
