Abstract
This paper proposes a reference model to adapt MVC (Model-View-Controller) design pattern to construct the factory information system (Cycle Time Performance Review System) to reduce the entire development schedule, and the manpower demand which include the future maintain effort. The production cycle time indices are very important for a global semiconductor foundry. We hope to decrease the complexity of the production cycle time management and improve the work efficiency. Due to a large amount of information, we need to build an information platform to make the related information transparent and readily available; and further, to improve the production cycle time. The paper based on a case study proposes Model-View-Controller design pattern which may reduce the degree of coupling among the program units owned by different departments. This architecture is shown to reduce the inter-departmental coordination problems and to save the effort of engineers to develop and maintain the system.
