Abstract
Academic institutions are one of the important resources to economic development. In recent years, academic institutions are becoming aware of the commercial value of their researches. This study established a framework to illustrate the entrepreneurial university commercialization strategy and describes the interaction of the commercialization strategy. The result found that universities should encourage research commercialization which is supported by flexible policies to strengthen the entrepreneurial mechanisms. The patent strategy, the industry-university cooperation strategy, technology transfer strategy and student spin-off strategy interact and enhance with each other. Using Far East University as a case study, the results reveal that the model works well in the case. By conducting 12-time interview with the core members of Far East University, the great performance is based on patents and support by context and structure within the university.
