Abstract
Up to 91.95% retirement rate of less than maximum length of service (24 years) applied from the lieutenant colonels in A University is recently found; resulting in a great deal of work faulting. The research is based on the subject of lieutenant colonels in A University with lifetime pension qualifications, applied with the qualitative research and the semi-structural focused interview method. 12 lieutenant colonels certified in A University, with lifetime pension qualifications (service over 20 years) and including early retirement and approval for early retirement are interviewed. The main discusses: 1.The reasons of the research subject not servicing up to the maximum length. 2.The circumstances of the research subject attending the vocational training before retirement and the job conversion. 3.The comprehension of the retirement planning and retired life from the subject 4.The future career planning reference for the young generation in lieutenant colonels and the recommendations for talent retention can be hopefully offered through the research.
