Abstract
The work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSD) is a serious occupationalsafety and hygiene problem in industrial countries as well as in Taiwan. In view ofthis significance, Ministry of Labor had revised the occupational safety and health actby adding a clause ‘the employer is required to carefully plan and to take necessarysafety and health measures to prevent musculoskeletal disorders due to repetitivestrain injury’. An ergonomic intervention practice is proposed to assist the industry totake practical measures in confirming the requirement of the law. The practiceconsists of 4 procedures: (1) investigation of musculoskeletal disorders, (2)self-ergonomic improvement, (3)expert ergonomic improvement, and (4) control andfollow-up.This research is refer to easy-to-follow ergonomics checklist ofSelf-implementation Guide of Ergonomics Workplace Improvement for Industry(Ting-Yu Shen, 2011),which is focusing on ergonomic engineering team and expertsof Zhi-Yun You to improve cases reports from 2011 to 2013, then integrate tochecklist, we can use to its general and typical case as a model, and expand thecontent of checklist. The purpose is to improve the lack of original checklist, andincrease the compatibility. It will help workers to do the self-improvement by findinga horse according to a drawing, and practicing promptly the self-implementationguide of ergonomics in the workplace for industry.Keywords: work related musculoskeletal disorders, self-ergonomic improvement,expert ergonomic improvement, easy-to-follow ergonomics checklist
