Abstract
In order to solve the performance and cost issues of building a high performance networking surveillance system, we developed a system with an auxiliary computing component, TriMedia multimedia DSP, for video processing. Furthermore, we propose a network congestion detection and video recovery mechanism which integrates the network traffic report/feedback and the multiple group service mechanisms to solve the video playback interruption and delay problems. With the experience of designing and implementing this networking surveillance system, we provide a chance of improvement for people who are interested in this topic to build more powerful, cheaper, and more convienient networking suveillance systems.
