Abstract
The order management system is an essential activity in the whole complex domain of supply chain management. The order quotation management manifests its urgency and importance because it is usually neglected in modern researches. The one who has the ability to response customer*s order quotation quickly and efficiently will have stronger competitive edge. To response customer*s order quotation, joint internal meeting must be held by a couple of departments in the company. This will always spend a few days to one week to response customers. The propagation effect will happen. The forward time of the demand quotation information transferred from the retailer points to the supplier points will take more than one month. Because of keen competition in modern business environment and shorter life cycle of products, this kind of poor ability to response customer*s order quotation will lead it to losing market share. We adapt the linear programming formulation that is proposed by Leachman[1992] to model the production planning problem of the semiconductor wafer fabrication. Using the sensitivity analysis method of linear programming simplex algorithm, we can revise Available-To-Promise (ATP) by post optimization calculation of the original production planning problem. This thesis proposes an order quotation management system that can provide decision information in short time by using speedy modern computers. Furthermore, the delivery schedule planning module can provide the precision information about delivery date and quantity of an order.
