Abstract
AbstractWith the high brightness, thin substance, low power consumption and rayless, the thin film transistor-LCD(TFT-LCD) is getting to replace the CRT monitor. The cost of key components occupies almost 60% of total cost of LCD monitor. For instance, one of the key components, Back Light (BL) shares about 23% material cost of panel in a 15-inch LCD monitor and grows to 44% material cost of panel in a 30-inch LCD TV. With the competition in the TFT-LCD market, how to reduce the cost of key components is the issue we need to face immediately and it relates our LCD industrial development. The production content of components of BL is ordered by panel makers. The design of components of panel doesn’t conduct to standardization. For example, there are many assembly designs in the same type of BL. Because of non-standardization, BL makers produce a lot of wastes, such as mode cost and inventory cost. This thesis tries to explain how LCD industrial conducts to standardization and analyses the benefit of standardization for all members of LCD supply chain.
