Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of the i Research Institute 10% Free Time Program on organizational creative climate, measuring employees’ perception of the creative climate of program. Organizational creative climate is divided into five dimensions, including (1) vision & mission, (2) autonomy, (3) resource, (4) encouragement & support of creativity, and (5) challenge & playfulness. The design of the questionnaire is not only referred to related instruments, but also based on i research institute 10% Free Time Program’s characters. The respondents of the questionnaire survey are 270 directors and employees who applied 10% Free Time Program before. The study receives 145 useful questionnaires with an overall response rate, 53.7 %. The study analyzed the data by descriptive statistic and cross table, used mean score as comparative subjects, and compared with each dimension mean and item mean to figure out which is more effective. The results indicate that vision & mission had the highest dimension mean, challenge & playfulness was the second, and resource had the lowest mean. In another words, most of program participants are clearly understand the vision and mission of the 10% Free Time Program, and follow it to implement the project. Besides, they also consider that the 10% Free Time Project is full of challenge and interest. However, the program managers should pay more attention on resource and encouragement & support of creativity dimensions, because they receive relatively lower scores. The implications of the study can help managers to learn the organizational creative climate that the program participants recognize, and also to find out the factors that the 10% Free Time Program influencing on the organizational climate. In the end, the research offers the suggestions for the program managers to modify the program regulation and administration in order to nurture a more creative organizational climate in i research institute.
