Abstract
A caron polarimater has been designed to measure the angular dependence of polarization of the protons elastically scattered from AI27 at EI = 2.17 ± 0.03 Hev. The scattaring angles used ranged from □Eab = 30° to 130° in 20° intervals. Correlation between polarization and differential cross seetion angular distribution has been invesvigated by measuring the elastic acattering cross section for the same terget at the same anergy, too. Comoound elastic scattering has been found to have significant contributions to both the polarization and the differential cross section. Energy dependence of the polarization has also bean obsorved at scattaring angle eLab = 30° for incident proton energies □p = 1.6 to 3.0 Mev in △Ep = 0.2 Mev steps.
