Abstract
Cacodylic acid (CH3)2 COOH was irradiated with neutrons at room temperature and dry - ice temperature (-78℃). Thermal annealing of irradiated targets was investigated at various temperatures. The chemical forms of radioarsenic was studied by paper electrophoresis. Heating of the neutron - irradiated cacodylic acid decreased the percentage of retention and recoiled As(v), The thermal annealing rate increased with the increase in temperature. An improved method of preparing radioactive arsenic isotope was proposed based on the results of thermal annealing study. By this method, a 10% increase in radioactivity recovery and a 15% increase in enrichment factor was observed.
