Abstract
Abstract The Display Panel is almost matured worldwide, therefore the Touch Panel is developing on more applications in the moment. Meanwhile, surface capacitive touch panel is most competitive product in the touch panel market. Its key component, sensor glass, shares 40% cost on said panels, so the sensor glass source is a priority issue. Therefore, the strategies such as ensuring stationary supplier, dividing the works, decreasing the spending of investment, sharing risk and economic scale analysis to obtain sensor glass to using resource effectively of each panel industry are different. This study proposed a method to select that the material should be made by maker itself or purchase from suppliers. The major demonstrative company is a new company to produce touch panels in Taiwan. This study was based on the theory in the book of Professor Charles H. Fine (1988): “Clockspeed winning industry control in the age of temporary advantage”. The idea of using clockspeed to analyze the activities of produces’ values was proposed. The 4-dimentions decision-making matrix which pulsating speeds and the supplier number were considered under the situations of technology-lead and organization-lead established to analyze present decisions and examine the theory framework of that “produces should be self-made or outsourcing”. The supply of electronic produces has exceeded the demand. Therefore, a company should be in keeping with the requirements of consumers and investigate new production to maintain the business. Technological innovation leads to the increasing applications of productions and sent down the market price. Numerous new productions explore to result in the shortening of life cycle of products. The industries are close attention to market condition to analyze the potential threat of new produces. New technology is developed when projected capacitive touch panels are produced. The results in this study show that the clockspeed in this industry was slow. There are many suppliers which can provide materials. So, the tasks of producing and investigating can be outsourced. And, the production is also modularized, therefore the investment, risk and economic scale can be reduced by outsourcing makers.
