Abstract
As the globalization and information technology develop quickly, knowledge application and innovation become important for enterprises. Especially, because of the nature of knowledge to more across time, space and organization, the transformation and combination of knowledge across geographical and organizations border can create a variety of combination. Thus; the nature and substance of knowledge is quite a significant factor to create cross-border innovation and value in enterprises.This research explores the issue of how local wireless communication industry uses the diverse knowledge to prompt cross-border innovation. In wireless communication applications, the firm’s innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities are generated by a systematical collection, integration, learning, and internal or external sharing of various types of knowledge, while continuously creating and utilizing new knowledge during the process. This research focuses on building the ontology of organization knowledge with an analysis and synthesis of knowledge combination process, in-depth interview of the teams performing wireless communication applications, and ontological analysis of cross-border knowledge links and combinations. The resulting ontology framework is to represent the process of the innovative firms in cross-border knowledge combination to promote continuous innovation and value creation.
