Abstract
Nowadays, television has become a widespread communications media. However, the television audiences are not satisfied at scheduled programming. Thus, additional video services are offered because of the condition mentioned as above. In addition, Internet is so prevalent that it can provide illimitable network resources for users to obtain extensive information. Video-on-Demand (VoD) will be the trends in the future.But, there are a lot of problems on Video-on-Demand. The first problem is the authentication problem. I think none likes someone pretend to be him or her, steal his or her account number and password. The second problem is payment problem. It must charge consumers service fee for using the Video-on-Demand service according to the consumer’s quantity. And, how to calculate each consumer’s quantity is a serious problem, which needs to be considered. Next, the third problem is the encryption of transmission data. We need a secure and reliable communication method to transmit data. Besides, the method also can provide a real-time communication. It is very important to a Video-on-Demand service system. At last, if consumers don’t remember their password any more, it will be more convenient service to consumers.In this thesis, we propose a Video-on-Demand service system. It can solve those problems mentioned as above efficiently. In other words, the proposed system in this thesis can provide a convenient and secure and reliable authentication and payment mechanism.
