Abstract
Vapor Sterilization is the most popular way to sterilize the operation appliances in hospitals. There are two kinds of methods used widely to input vapor in the chamber of sterilizer, one is gravity method and the other is vacuum method. The difference between these two methods is whether using vacuum pump or not. Usually gravity method is used in laboratory or used in liquid sterilization, and vacuum method is used in hospital where health care workers need to pack the unsterilized medical appliances. Because the unsterilized medical appliances are packed, vapor is hard to get into the packs, when using vacuum method, air can be removed more efficient and vapor can go into packs more easily. By using vacuum pump, the inside of sterilizer become vacuum during the exhaust period, so it can make moisture hard to condensate and rise up the quality of sterilization . When at the time the sterilize cycle ends, the door of sterilizer can’t be fully open more than ten minutes to let the residual heat in the sterilizer to dry the packs, otherwise some packs may still wet, and the wet packs probably lead to some other packs in sterilizer are polluted again. This study is focus on how to adjust the sterilization cycle to reduce the wet packs emerged, by using CFD; we can quickly obtain the result of different sterilization cycle and get the optimization.
