Abstract
The thesis is divide in to six chapters for better understanding, and discusses a gold-catalyzed isomerization of unactivated allenes into 1,3-dienes with nitrosobenzene as an additive. We postulate a mechanism involving the intermediacy of gold allylic cation which is subjected to an intramolecular proton transfer mediated by nitrosobenzene. The utility of this reaction is manifested by the development of one-pot {4+2}-cycloaddition of allenes and reactive nitrosobenzes.
