Abstract

柘榴石燒結磁性 garnetsinteringmagnetism
Addition of 2Ca-V into the Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) materials markedly lowers the sintering temperature necessary for densifying the materials and the magnetic properties also depend on the substituent amount of Ca and V. Using 1 step process (Y2O3+Fe2O3+V2O5+CaOaCa-V-YIG) and 2 step process (Y2O3+Fe2O3aYIP, Fe2O3+YIP+V2O5+CaOaCa-V-YIG) to productCa-V-YIG and observe the effects of solid state、liquid and reaction sintering on densification.The Ca-V-YIG has the formula Y3-2xCa2xFe5-xVxO12, x=0~1.5 . High density Ca-V-YIG (98.5% TD) can product by 1 step process with x=0.2~1.4 or 2 step process beyond x=1.2 . But in 2 step process, the material has smaller grain size、more closed pore and bad magnetic properties. Liquid sintering has batter densification than reaction sintering.The reasonable sintering temperature exists a “ temperature window” and this window is not larger than 30 degree C. Over sintering induces Ca-V compound forming.The effects of the substituent amount of Ca and V are linear on Bmax and Br. The Bmax and Br value of Y2.6Ca0.4Fe4.8V0.2O12 are 1.22 KGauss and 0.81 KGauss. The Bmax and Br value linearly decay to 0 at x=1, then linearly increase to 0.35 KGauss and 0.19 KGauss at x=1.4. The value of Hc is about 0.95 Oe with x=0.2~0.4 and fast increase to 3~5 Oe beyond x=0.4.
