Abstract
In this thesis we use Heine's method to derive the effective mass Hamiltonian. Then the magnetic Hamiltonian has bee obtained by using the band-edge wave functions of L. K., and this Hamitonian is solved numerically by computer. From these calculations, the transition photon energy, effective mass, and g factor are got and plotted in figures.
