電弧法製造碳六十的產率已提升至百分之二十左右。雜質被證明不利於碳六十的生成。M型產率分佈首度被發現,並且被解釋為電子與光子的效應。垂直磁場所引起的急劇產率下降,亦首度被發現,並且以光破壞機構給予合理的解釋。Yield of toluene-soluble fullerenes had been improved to near20% in arcing method. Impurities were proved to be dangerous toyield performance. "M" shape yield distribution in Yield-ACcurrent graphs were the first time noticed and attributed toeffects of photons and electrons. Dramatic yield drops inducedby applied perpendicular magnetic fields were also the firsttime discovered and discussed with reasonable explanationsbased on photodestruction mechanism.
