Abstract
The purposes of this research include: 1) developing analysis methodology for the computer plants; 2) reducing the cycle time from order to delivery; 3) collecting the production data to analyze the production process flow; 4) providing the improvement commendations and predicting the potential benefits. The methodology is also suitable for the other similar assembly plants.The contributions of this research include: 1) establishing analysis methodology and tools suitable for computer factories; 2) establishing a performance index system for the cycle time and benchmark performance for the participating plants; 3) using the completed analysis methodology to find the delay causes of production process flow and provide improvement commendations; 4) reducing the production cycle time and rationalize the production process flow; 5) providing feedback recommendations to the plants.
