Abstract
The substance-field analysis and inventive principles is one of the more difficult and less used TRIZ tools although it is reported as among the tools which can generate breakthrough results. The difficulties primarily lie in 1) the correspondence between the initial Su-field model (ISM) and the appropriate inventive standards; 2) the difficulty in automating the establishment of the ISM and the Desired Su-field Model (DSM). The paper established a new coding scheme allowing automatic creation of ISM, intelligent identification of possible corresponding standards, allowing user to select identified standards and generate solution trigger DSM automatically. The system is a computer-aided intelligent problem-solving assistant for Su-field analysis. Upon identification of solution triggers, the system will also provide ample examples to aid human generation of specific solutions given the solution triggers. It will enable a novel user to quickly generate solution triggers without detail knowledge of the Su-field knowledge and laborious manual exercise.
