Abstract
The demand in conventional inventory replenishment policy is assumed to be a constant. Regarding to product life cycle, however, the demand is constant only in maturity cycle. The demand of many products, such as air conditioner and electronic dictionary in electronic consumption product, keep changing in different seasons or months. As the demand changed in specific time, the order time period of the product is fixed.Based on the flexible demand and fixed order time period, this study investigates how to use dynamic programming to find optimum order quantity and minimize the cost. The result in this study is applied to a practical model.
