Abstract
Nowadays, there are about 60,000 non-profit organizations registered in Taiwan. Large and famous nonprofit organizations, contributed to its regular and stable donation inflows and professional human resources, can develop and carry out innovative social welfare service programs more easily and smoothly when compared with the rest organizations which are confined by their individual abilities and capabilities. Thus, in the context of globalization, it’s quite challenging for non-profit organizations to strengthen its own mandate and functions to undergo organizational reforms and service innovations to become a “functional” and “service-oriented” organization. Innovation is a problem solving process to put new ideas into practice to create organizational values through new technologies, process flows, services and businesses. Innovation in service is to serve the needs of the target correspondents based on their predicaments and to establish a comprehensive total solution. The effectiveness and completeness of this solution is based on strategic innovations, professional service research and developments, resource development strategies and the effect of linkage of innovation. Case study is adopted in order to learn whether service innovation plan has favorable effects on disadvantaged families (recipients). A five-year duration, tailor-made, strengths perspective household service program was constructed and rendered to the recipient in order to restore and recover its household function. From the end of the review, the recipient’s household function was significantly improved after receiving such program. Keyword: non-profit organization, service innovation, globalization
