Abstract
Although applying the feed-forward control to enhance contouring motion precision is the most typical means of high-speed CNC machine tools, identifying the feed-forward parameters of controller is difficult owing to try and error estimation. Therefore, this study proposed a novel design method capable of identifying the control parameters of feed-forward CNC controller. The control parameters are determined by identifying the feed-drive system dynamic property. Then, the maximum velocity value identifies the S-curve slope of CNC controller. Results in this study demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method in obtaining a high contouring precision of high-speed CNC machine tools and reducing time to identify the control parameters in feed-forward CNC controller.
