Abstract
Northern Song Dynasty poet Huang Ting-Jian described himself that he realized the principle of literary creation after Shao-Sheng era. And because of plitical system, scholars in Song Dynasty have long and wide range of traveling experience. This thesis tries to clarify Huang Ting-Jian’s feelings and works features which are before and after Shao-Sheng era by analyzing his travel poetry. Chapter 1 Introduction roughly describes the formation of research ideas, methodology and structure, gives a description and comments on the data of literature that we had in hands. Chapter 2 investigates the history of travel literature and emphasizes the particularity of Huang Ting-Jian’s travel poetry. Chapter 3 discusses the way how Huang Ting-Jian faced his dilemma. It was divided into three parts:desire of going back home, interaction between people in traveling, and feelings feelings about his duty. Chapter 4 discusses Huang Ting-Jian’s mood in his old age. After Shao-Sheng era, he was relegated, and threatened by death, so he tried to think and search for the most important value in life. Chapter 5 is conclusion. It generalized the results and observations in the research. It also mentions the undeveloped propositions that may become outlook and prospects for follow-up researches.
