Abstract

A study was conducted to demonstrate the preparation of anatase titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanosheet with active sites along (101) planes of anatase, by a chimie-douce method. Commercial TiO 2 powder was refluxed in air atmosphere at 423 K for 24-72 hours, suspended in 15 M NaOH(aq), to conduct the study. The isolated solid was rinsed with deionized water and dried 343 K, to give product A. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, along with mass spectroscopy (TGA/MS), were also used, to study the chemical composition of the as-prepared samples.
