Abstract
Alkyl, allylic, benzylic, and cycloalkyl sulfones can be converted to aldehydes or ketones in good-to-excellent yields by treatment with n-BuLi followed by Me 3 SiOOSiMe 3 . Preparation of 18 O-labeled carbonyl compounds with Me 3 Si 18 O 18 OSiMe 3 was also successful. © 1983 American Chemical Society.
