Abstract
The quantum fluctuations of optical fiber-Bragg-grating (FBG) solitons were investigated by using back-propagation method. It was found that the band-gap effects of the grating act as a nonlinear filter and cause the soliton to be amplitude squeezed. The maximum squeezing phase angle of the quadrature field components of the FBG solitons was also determined. It was shown that the squeezing ratio saturates after a certain grating length and the optimal squeezing ration occurs when the pulse energy was slightly above the fundamental soliton energy.
