The title complex, [Al 2 (CH 3 ) 4 (C 15 H 11 O) 2 ], is dimeric bridged through the O atoms of the 9-anthracenemethano-late anions. Each Al atom is tetra-coordinated by two bridging O atoms from two different 9-anthracenemethano-late ligands and by two C atoms from two methyl groups, forming a distorted tetra-hedral environment. The average Al- O bond distance in the Al 2 O 2 core is 1.845 Å.
