摘要
The carbon-carbon bond cleavage in the photoionization of ethanol and 1-propanol cluster ions was investigated. The ion-molecule reactions in the clusters were initiated by photoionization using tunable VUV laser. The time-of-flight mass spectrometer was used to detect the ionic products. It was observed that the photoionization products of alcohol clusters corresponding to the β carbon-carbon bond cleavage could have intensity as large as protonated alcohols at small sizes of clusters. The high energy in the ionization of the alcohol clusters was found to increase substantially the proton transfer rate at higher initial excitation energies, which resulted in the protonated alcohol cluster ions as dominant products.
